Welcome to Chicago!
Food I Tried
The Pit BBQ in Hickory Hills. The best ribs I’ve had in Chicago.
Burger Antics in Brookfield. Good burger place and have amazing cocktails. The old fashioned is the best I’ve had.
Chicago Athletic Association/Cherry Circle Room/Cindys. Good place for a cocktail and decent food in a nice dark wood setting.
The Mean Wiener by Fort Sheridan. THE best torta I’ve ever had.
Pita Pita. Pretty good Mediterranean food chain, makes a great lunch option.
Palermo’s on 95th. The best thin crust pizza. The stuffed is also pretty good. The sauce is sweeter than most and the cheese is actually seasoned.
Antico Posto. Very good upscale Italian food place in Oak brook. The parmesan chicken is the best.
Meson Sabika. Tapas restaurant in a white mansion in Naperville. Must go every year.
Mitsuwa Japanese market in Arlington Heights. Has a food court with one of the best ramen shops called Santouka.
Posto 31 in Brookfield. Nice Italian food place with a seasonal menu.
Bavette’s in downtown. This place has the best chocolate dessert I’ve ever had in my life. French restaurant for a fancy date.
Coculas in Countryside. Good Mexican food, fast service and for a good price.
Maple and Ash. Fancy steak restaurant in downtown Chicago. Expensive, they do a special menu for your birthday if you let them know ahead of time.
Hog Wild. BBQ place in Oak Lawn. Known for its giant pork chop.
Au Chevale in downtown. Has one of the best burgers in Chicago.
Johnnie’s beef in Arlington Heights. The best beef in Chicago. You’ll have your beef ready by the time you’re done paying. Also need to get the lemon Italian ice.
Gene & Jude’s. Best place to get a classic Chicago style hotdog.
Chucks BBQ in Burbank. Good bbq with a lot of options. The loaded nachos are enough for two.
Kuma’s Corner. Good specialty burger place with a metal themed restaurant. A few locations in downtown or in the suburbs.
Palmers in La Grange. Decent place for a late night burger and drinks.
WooW Sushi in La Grange. Really good Japanese restaurant. They have tempura (fried) cheesecake!
Gibsons. Expensive steak dinner ($100 each) but it’s a nice experience with excellent service.
Portillos and Barnelli’s. Fast food burger place famous in Chicago. Try the beef croissant.
Lou Malnati’s. Favorite pizza chain for deep dish. Giordanos is also good but second to Lou’s in my opinion.
Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings in Chinatown. Probably the best dumplings I had.
Tortoise Supper Club. Huge portions and beef wellington easily the size of a burrito. Live jazz weekend evenings.
Ramen Wasabi. Pretty good ramen in Chicago.
Misoya Ramen in Arlington Heights. Probably the best ramen I’ve had so far. The ingredients are fresh and plentiful with a savory broth.
Salsa 17 in Arlington Heights. Probably the best restaurant mole I’ve had.
Wildberry in downtown. Best breakfast spot around.
